Weight of His World (Broken blue Gay Romance Book 1)

With great power comes great responsibility.

Levi King is the most successful horse rancher in the southeastern United States. He’s got it all, but he’s also got a lot on his plate - salaries to cover, horses to train, the biggest ranch in the valley - and it’s all on him. Everyone around him needs his time and attention, so how did he end up volunteering his ranch for the Wide Open program, an organization designed to give ex-cons a second chance at life? Just what he needs – another responsibility. Even worse, this new responsibility has a cheeky grin, a fine body, and a way of making Levi’s blood run hot.
When Cruz Baltimore steps out of the police cruiser and sees the man who’s given him a second chance, he’s way more than grateful – he’s entranced. Levi King is dead serious, wicked sharp, and sizzling hot. Not that he’d be interested in a screw-up like Cruz. Still, Cruz can’t help himself. Levi is a strong man, king of his domain. He's a man with a destiny - Cruz just knows he wants to be part of it.
This is the first book in DJ Monroe's new Broken Blue mm romance series. It's full of rough cowboys, beautiful horses, and the kind of love that will tear your heart out and make it whole again. Each book can be read on its own, in any order, and has an HEA (happily ever after).

My interview with Samantha McGraw runs today over at Tea Cottage Mysteries.  It's such a pretty, relaxing site where she shares her love of chocolate, afternoon tea, cottage living and mysteries.  We're talking about Pumpkin Spice and a Body on Ice, plus some other things that you're sure to enjoy.  Click here to read all about it.

If you're unfamiliar with the Dixie Cupp Diner Mysteries you can check them out on Amazon

Spend the Day with Starla Cupp!

Hey, ya’ll. Starla Cupp here, co-owner of the Dixie Cupp Diner located in the tiny town of Sugar Hill, Virginia. My day? Well, it starts around four in the morning. I live upstairs over the diner in a cozy apartment, so my commute consists of trying not to fall down the stairs. My business partner and best friend, Poppy and our morning cook, Gladys get in about half an hour later. Poppy is good at paying our bills and keeping track of our bottom line, but I like being out on the floor, waiting tables and taking care of my customers. If you can’t tell already, the Dixie Cupp Diner is my happy place - noisy, fun, and full of people I’ve known all my life.
While Gladys fires up the grill and slides the first big pan of her famous biscuits into the oven, I get the coffee pots going. Then the early birds start arriving, so Poppy and I work together to fill their orders quickly and get them on their way. There’s a little break and then the morning regulars start arriving. There’s Mayor Gillespie, who holds court at the end of the counter. There’s dear old Mrs. Blake who defended the English language at Sugar Hill High (illustrious home of the fighting Honey Badgers) until she retired. Eva and Anna Lord, twins who own the yoga studio down the street, come in with their good friend Tiffany Samples - she runs the health food store. Poppy’s fiancĂ©, Tom Brown pops in for a quick breakfast and she usually takes a break to chat with him a minute or two.
Another regular customer is our new Chief of Police, Tucker Ashe. Tucker and I grew up next door to each other. He joined the military and traveled the world. I stayed right here in town. It took the murder of our mailman to bring him back to Sugar Hill, where our friendship took up right where it left off. However, lately, I’ve been wondering if my feelings for him might run a little deeper.
After the morning rush, Poppy and I make the deposit at the bank and then go for a walk in the park. She’s determined to fit into that wedding dress! Back at the diner, I head up to my place for a nap. Later, I help with the dinner crowd and close down the diner at night. What do I do when I’m not working or trying out new recipes? Well, much to Tucker’s dismay, I’m usually in the middle of solving a murder. That’s gotten me (and sometimes Poppy) into hot water more than once, but I just can’t help but get involved.

News and Notes--And Christmas!

NaNoWriMo is almost over!

Hello.  Willow here.
November is almost over and with it ends NaNoWriMo.  I'm not even sure where the others are as far as word count is concerned but I think JD wrote like 95,000 words this month.  I can tell you for sure that with one day left, I've completed 48,439 so, for sure, I'll hit the 50K mark tomorrow morning.
The beginning of December is going to be spent sprucing up our backlist.  We're looking closely at covers, keywords, descriptions and updating the back matter in all of our current books.  I want to head into 2019 with a clean slate for everyone.  We're also pulling some of our series out of Kindle Unlimited and taking them to other platforms such as Kobo, Apple and Google Books.  I don't like having all of my eggs in the same basket, so to speak and when they're in KU, we have to remain exclusive to Amazon.  I'll let you know how things progress on that front.  Just wondering how many of you read or purchase books from other platforms.  That would be helpful to know so please, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Christmas!  And I've been trying to figure out what to get for my buddies here at Pinwheel.  I've come up with a few ideas and thought I'd share them with you, just in case you have some writer friends or family on your list.

A gift that anyone would love would be a coupon.  For example, a coupon stating you'll do the laundry for a week or do the grocery shopping or pick the kids up at school or something like that.  Writers hate to be taken away from their desk and little things like this can eat up the day.
Candles!  Who doesn't love scented candles and these are perfect for writers!
Cute Desk Accessories!  OMG, I love those cute and functional items on my desk that just make me smile, make me want to come into my little office and work.  Like this--
Of course, you know, all of us writer's love books so don't forget to add them to your shopping list, too.  And, if they just happen to like cozy mysteries (wink, wink), I can give you some ideas!
